The Power of God is not something we should take for granted, neither is it something that many of us readily accept or experience, now that may sound controversial or even judgemental and its not meant to, just read on and you will get my thoughts.
I've been reading 1 Kings 17 and another book which God has led me to read again after nearly 15 years... the book: Riding the third wave, by John Wimber.... out of print now, but awesome reading about the power of God moving in various peoples lives.
but 1 kings 17 is about Elijah and the widow and the oil and the flour that never ran out year after year.... because God said so.
Now I don't know about you, but I have heard it said many times, and frankly I am sick and tired of the justifications and theologies as to why God doesn't do it today, the power stuff that is... all I can see is people around me at times justifying why God doesn't heal, or why He doesn't do the miracles like the oil thing, the raising back to life stuff, the blind man seeing stuff... does anyone, reading this...honestly think that God cant do that stuff anymore ? yet do we see it in our churches/corps week in week out ? and if not, why do we not see it anymore ? Is it because God doesn't want to do it, or is it because we are not living on the edge of a faith filled ministry where God will do the impossible ?

I know some churches see this, and prasie God for your faith....I am also aware that the greatest sign of God's power is salvation.... and I pray that we are seeing people saved every week, but you answer it for your self, are you seeing that every week in your church ? I'm not, not yet anyway.... do you wonder, as I do, .... why not ?
it's been a while since I've been blogging,(holidays), but as I have rested and reflected, I just know God is drawing me into the power stuff once again....where He is allowed to be God and I am simply an available and obedient servant of His.... I don't want to get in the way of Him moving and His power being stopped by me.... I want to see the sick made well, the blind able to see, the never ending supply of His provision for the daily needs of His church and His people, and not as a metaphor but as the real deal....
many years ago I experienced the supernatural power of God in my daughter Chelsea's life as God miraculously healed her..right before my eyes, as my Corps Officer prayed over her, she was instantly healed.... I've seen demons flee, I've seen people saved and set free from human habit right before my eyes.... but alas, not for a long time have I seen it and ministered in such a way, as I know God is leading me back to right now....
so...some will label me for this view, to you I say..."go for your life".....I don't care, I just want the power of God moving in my life, in my church, in my ministry and in my family......
if God can save a mum and her son and feed them for years from a never ending jar of oil and bag of flour, then I choose to believe that His power hasn't changed, it's just us that have....

I choose God over the opposite....
I choose power over the opposite,
I choose the risky, if that's where God is....
what about you ?
